The Master of Fine Arts program is ideal if you hold a bachelor's degree in interior design or architecture and want to advance your professional career by developing skills in evidence-based design and applying this knowledge to real-world projects. These competencies are highly valued by architecture and interior design firms that increasingly perform in-house research to develop better design solutions and substantiate their choices to clients. The MFA also serves as a pathway for teaching interior design at colleges and universities where a Ph.D. isn't required (alternatively, consider the Master of Science research track for Ph.D. preparation). This 60-credit-hour program includes at least six thesis credits, with admission limited to ensure personalized faculty guidance through the Graduate Program Committee's selection process. Recognized as a terminal degree by many institutions, the MFA offers flexible electives that can be applied to FSU certificate programs in areas like higher education teaching, project management, museum studies, or entrepreneurship.
