The Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Civil Engineering offers advanced training in civil engineering subjects, management principles, and professional practice. This M.Eng. program suits both part-time graduate students and full-time learners seeking an intensive one-year completion path. The curriculum requires 30 semester hours, with prerequisite conditions for each course. Applicants without prior civil or environmental engineering degrees must complete additional foundational coursework. The specialization component delivers in-depth knowledge in a chosen civil engineering field, with at least 15 credit hours needing to come from the Civil and Environmental Engineering department's advanced offerings.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental engineering, or a closely related engineering or science discipline from an accredited college or university.
Good academic standing at the academic institution last attended.
A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on all coursework attempted as an upper division student (beyond 60 semester credit hours).
The GRE requirement has been waived (and extended) for all engineering master's applicants through Fall 2026.
