American Religious History (ARH) represents one of four specialized tracks available for graduate students pursuing Religion degrees at FSU. This concentration explores how religious traditions and practices have shaped American cultural development throughout history. Students in this program complete ARH-specific degree requirements while working closely with the department's expert faculty in American religious history, including Professors John Corrigan, Sonia Hazard, Laura McTighe, and Michael McVicar.

Additionally, they acquire essential teaching experience by instructing courses for our dynamic undergraduate religion program.
The Graduate Program features four distinct academic tracks: American Religious History (ARH), History and Ethnography of Religions (HER), Religion, Ethics, and Philosophy (REP), and Religions of Western Antiquity (RWA). Each track maintains unique degree requirements, with students receiving primary advising from faculty within their chosen specialization while also completing coursework across other areas. The department exclusively admits full-time students to its Graduate Program in Religion.
