The College of Law and Department of Earth, Ocean & Atmospheric Sciences offer a combined J.D./M.S. program in Aquatic Environmental Science and Oceanography, allowing students to pursue both degrees simultaneously. Prospective participants currently enrolled in law school must consult with and provide all required admission materials to the College of Law's joint pathway coordinator by May 15 of their first academic year. The coordinator will then forward the complete application package to both the College of Law and the Department of Earth, Ocean & Atmospheric Sciences for review. Applicants who have already completed coursework toward their M.S. in Aquatic Environmental Science/Oceanography before entering law school, or those seeking to join the program after starting their second year of legal studies, must secure advance written authorization from the College of Law before submitting their application.
Applicants who have taken undergraduate courses in environmental science, biology, or chemistry may be more successful in this program.
