With electronic health record systems now implemented in over 95% of healthcare providers, electronic medical records are becoming increasingly prevalent. Emerging technologies like Web 2.0 platforms and wearable health devices are transforming patient engagement with healthcare services. These digital innovations are anticipated to enhance health outcomes while lowering treatment expenses. BurningGlass research indicates job opportunities in health informatics are expanding twice as fast as the overall employment market, yet current workforce shortages in this specialty area are well-documented. The FSU School of Information's Health Informatics Certificate program equips students for this growing health IT sector by training them in technology-driven health information management. Graduates gain expertise in utilizing technological solutions to efficiently collect, access, and apply health data, supporting clinical decision-making and patient care. This interdisciplinary certificate program develops future leaders in the health informatics field.
