The FSU Doctoral Program's core purpose is to train social work researchers and educational leaders who employ rigorous investigative approaches and logical reasoning to expand knowledge.
A key objective of the FSU Doctoral Program is to provide methodically organized coursework and hands-on learning experiences in systematic research that build autonomous research and scholarly abilities.
Furthermore, the program aims to deliver structured coursework and practical training in adult education methods that develop independent skills in curriculum design and teaching.
To accomplish these objectives, the Ph.D. Program adheres to the academic and professional standards set by Florida State University, the National Association of Social Workers (including the NASW Code of Ethics), and the Group for the Advancement of Doctoral Education in Social Work (GADE).
