Public Policy students in Florida State's Political Science program can collaborate with diverse faculty members who bring wide-ranging expertise and research methodologies. Our policy experts jointly investigate areas including collective decision-making, public opinion's influence on policy, regulatory frameworks and implementation, interactions between legislatures and bureaucracies, fiscal federalism and intergovernmental dynamics, as well as policy innovation and spread. They employ varied analytical techniques such as econometric modeling, game theory, computational simulations, GIS mapping, experimental designs, quasi-experimental approaches, and survey research. Their studies address critical issues in social welfare, healthcare systems, gerontology, environmental policy, urban development, state governance, taxation structures, and public finance.
