In the field of International Relations, we excel in two key research domains: Conflict Studies and International Political Economy (IPE). Florida State University boasts a longstanding reputation for outstanding conflict research. Our conflict experts actively participate in prestigious organizations like the Peace Science Society, the Conflict Processes Section of APSA, and the ISA's Scientific Study of International Processes section. Conflict studies students at FSU benefit from faculty connections to leading IR scholar networks. Our professors specialize in guiding research on diverse topics including Civil Wars, Ethnic Conflicts, Terrorism, Military Conflicts, Interstate Rivalries, Peacebuilding, Human Rights, and Political Protests. While few institutions match FSU's legacy in IPE scholarship, we maintain a dedicated faculty team in this field. Students receive exceptional research training, with our program demonstrating consistent success in placing International Relations graduates at premier research institutions and liberal arts colleges nationwide.
