The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering provides graduate programs culminating in a Master of Science (MS) in electrical engineering or a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in electrical engineering. The MS curriculum combines advanced coursework with hands-on problem-solving experience, balancing broad knowledge and focused expertise. Students undertake a master's thesis with an oral defense, allowing for concentrated exploration of contemporary electrical engineering subjects. The PhD program cultivates comprehensive expertise in electrical engineering, equipping graduates for careers in industry, academia, or research. Doctoral candidates are required to make original research contributions to their chosen specialization. These programs align with faculty research interests, offering concentrations in diverse fields such as computer engineering, cybersecurity, electromagnetics, telecommunications, signal processing, control systems, power engineering, sustainable energy technologies, robotics, and nanoelectronics.

Qualification Requirements
Earned a Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, from an accredited college or university.
A grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for all work attempted beyond 60 semester hours of undergraduate study or graduate GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher.
A minimum score of 151 points for the quantitative section and 145 points for the verbal section of the GRE test, GRE waiver request form.
For International students, an English Proficiency Score Report is required if:
The applicant's country's official language is NOT English or
The applicant did NOT graduate from an accredited US institution with either a bachelor's or master's degree.
The following are the minimum scores required for admission to the University:
Internet based TOEFL (IBTOEFL): 80
Paper based TOEFL (TOEFL): 550
International English Language Testing System (Academic IELTS): 6.5
Pearson Test of English (PTE): 55
