The department provides doctoral (PhD), Master of Science (MS), and non-thesis Master of Engineering (MEng) programs with specializations in structural, geotechnical, transportation, construction, water resources, and environmental engineering. Key focus areas in civil engineering encompass bridge design and management, cement-based materials, construction oversight, wind engineering, geo-environmental studies, pavement systems, transportation networks, disaster preparedness, computer-aided design tools, and the combination of physical and digital modeling for civil infrastructure. Water resources studies concentrate on fluid mechanics, water cycle processes, subsurface hydrology, and computational modeling of river basins and coastal regions. Environmental engineering specialties cover water purification, waste treatment, contamination cleanup, hazardous material handling, environmental systems evaluation, and sustainable practices.

Qualification Requirements
MS PhD Track: Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering or science discipline from an accredited college or university.
BS PhD Track: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering or science discipline from an accredited college or university.
Good academic standing at the academic institution last attended.
A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on all coursework attempted as an upper division student (beyond 60 semester credit hours) or a graduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) recommended minimum percentile ranks of 35% on the verbal reasoning section and 70% on the quantitative section (for tests taken after 2015, the corresponding scaled scores are 148 verbal and 159 quantitative). However, the decision to admit will be based on a prospective student's entire application package.
