The Marketing concentration is among seven specializations available in FSU's Business Administration Ph.D. program. This track welcomes up to two new students each autumn, spanning five years of study. It highlights service marketing, global commerce, and impactful consumer studies, with strong emphasis on theoretical frameworks and statistical methods to cultivate publishable marketing research. Curriculum features advanced seminars covering service marketing, buyer psychology, B2B strategies, structural equation modeling, multivariate analysis, and experimental methodologies. The program incorporates complementary coursework in related fields like social psychology, econometrics, corporate strategy, organizational dynamics or statistical methods, culminating in comprehensive exams and a dissertation.
A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution, or a comparable degree from an international institution, with a minimum 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) grade point average (GPA) in all coursework attempted while registered as an upper-division undergraduate student working towards a bachelor's degree; or
Admission is competitive and focused on students with grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher and GMAT scores of at least 600 or GRE scores of at least 155 on each section of the revised GRE.
The College of Business requires a minimum TOEFL score of 600 on the paper-based test and 100 on the internet-based test, or a minimum of 7.0 on the IELTS exam, taken within the past two (2) years.
A minimum score of 25 for each section of the TOEFL is strongly recommended. In addition, international graduate applicants seeking teaching assistantships are required to pass a test of spoken English.
