Through combined bachelor's/master's programs, students can replace certain undergraduate courses with graduate-level classes, applying up to three courses toward both degrees—potentially reducing both time and costs.
Finance serves as a fundamental pillar of our private enterprise economy, encompassing the strategic management of monetary resources. Every business, institution, and government entity faces the challenge of acquiring, allocating, and optimizing funds effectively. Virtually every organizational decision carries significant financial consequences, making financial literacy crucial. The finance curriculum equips students with theoretical knowledge, practical applications, institutional frameworks, and analytical techniques for sound decision-making. This versatile field prepares graduates for diverse career paths including financial management, banking, investment analysis, portfolio management, financial planning, and international finance. Additionally, finance serves as excellent groundwork for advanced studies in law or business. The department features specialized accelerated pathways—a combined BS/MSF program and BS/MBA option—enabling high-achieving undergraduates to complete up to nine graduate credit hours applicable toward both degrees. Comprehensive details about the MSF and MBA programs are available in the Graduate Bulletin.
