Instead of opting for general courses, ISS majors have the choice to pursue the Law and Society Specialization, blending primary, secondary, and supplementary study areas.
This Law and Society specialization provides a multidisciplinary exploration of how legal systems and institutions interact with modern society. The program aims to foster understanding of how laws influence social structures while being shaped by cultural values, behaviors, and economic-political frameworks. The curriculum incorporates courses from diverse departments including Economics, Geography, Political Science, Urban Planning, Sociology, Public Administration, and Philosophy.
Learners can either minor in Law and Society or specialize in it through the Interdisciplinary Social Science major. This Law and Society program suits various academic and career objectives by examining the connections between legal systems and broader human endeavors.
