This program offers students comprehensive knowledge about the scientific principles of nutrition and food. Learners explore nutrient roles and needs, metabolic processes, food quality and safety standards, food composition and chemical characteristics, as well as transformations that occur during food processing, storage, and preparation. In addition to nutrition, food science, biology, and microbiology studies, participants must complete physics and rigorous coursework in organic and analytical chemistry.

With its robust scientific foundation, the program equips graduates for diverse career paths in the food sector, government organizations, healthcare professions, and advanced studies in the discipline.

Undergraduates typically pursue specialized graduate degrees in Food Science or Nutrition, leading to careers in academia, medical fields, food manufacturing, or public sector roles. With appropriate guidance, this curriculum can also fulfill pre-medical requirements.

The Nutrition and Food research facility houses modern instrumentation for chemical, analytical, and microbiological testing. The laboratory complex includes a specialized Cold Lab for experiments requiring sustained low-temperature conditions.
