The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering program equips graduates for thriving careers in this interdisciplinary field, which advances computer technology across diverse sectors from ubiquitous computing to intelligent power grids. Professionals in computer engineering find opportunities across various industries such as hardware manufacturing, transportation, defense, telecommunications, consumer electronics, finance, healthcare, and technical consulting. These engineers may specialize in hardware development, software creation, or roles requiring integrated system design expertise. While rooted in both electrical engineering and computer science fundamentals, computer engineering represents a distinct discipline with unique applications. The ECE Department provides comprehensive technical training through challenging coursework, culminating in an intensive, collaborative capstone project. Computer engineering students complete core electrical engineering requirements alongside specialized computer science and CpE coursework, focusing on key areas like network systems, digital security, embedded technologies, electronic devices, automated design, data analytics, and machine learning.
