The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering offers a combined Bachelor of Science and Master of Science (BS-MS) track, building upon its current undergraduate and graduate programs in these disciplines. This accelerated pathway enables high-achieving students to earn both degrees more efficiently while maintaining the rigorous standards required for professional engineering careers. The program caters to undergraduates majoring in Chemical or Biomedical Engineering who aspire to continue their education at the graduate level in either field. Eligible candidates with a minimum 3.0 GPA in engineering coursework may apply during their junior year spring semester. Graduates of this program have secured positions in diverse sectors including engineering specialties, healthcare, business, law, and academia, or have continued their education in advanced degree programs.

Qualification Requirements
An applicant who desires admission as a first year in college student must be graduated from a regionally accredited high school (or comparable international institution). All transcripts/academic records that are not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations. If the transcript/academic record does not indicate the degree earned and date the degree was awarded, separate proof of degree is required. We require freshman applicants to submit at least one ACT and/or SAT test score to be considered for admission. Florida State does not require the optional ACT writing score or the optional SAT essay. We encourage applicants to take both the ACT and SAT, and to attempt each exam more than one time to earn the highest possible score.
