Whether you're a professional athlete, casual sports enthusiast, or office professional, FIU's athletic trainers are versatile healthcare experts who combine cutting-edge research, innovative technology, and clinical expertise to optimize patient performance.
The Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences offers an accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training (MS-AT) program that fulfills all educational requirements for becoming a certified athletic trainer. This intensive 6-semester, full-time program emphasizes evidence-based approaches, research methodologies, and practical learning experiences.
Our curriculum develops students' cognitive and hands-on skills for identifying, treating, and rehabilitating injuries in active individuals, while also covering risk assessment, healthcare management, pharmacology, diagnostic procedures, and ethical/legal considerations. The program mandates substantial clinical rotations across diverse settings to reinforce classroom learning with real-world experience.
