The French and Francophone studies program emphasizes achieving fluency in both spoken and written French while developing expertise in the cultures and literary traditions of French-speaking regions. Our department offers an optional Summer Study Abroad Program in France to deepen language immersion. Graduates are well-equipped for advanced studies in French Literature and Linguistics or for teaching positions at secondary schools. Proficiency in French opens doors to diverse career paths in government, business, and tourism, both internationally and in Florida - home to more than 200 French corporations. As one of Canada's official languages (the United States' top trading partner), French serves as an excellent complementary major or minor for Business and International Relations students.
