The French and Francophone studies program emphasizes achieving fluency in both spoken and written French while developing expertise in the cultures and literary traditions of French-speaking regions. Our department offers an optional Summer Study Abroad Program in France to deepen language immersion. Graduates are well-equipped for advanced studies in French Literature and Linguistics or for teaching positions at secondary schools.
