Florida Tech's space sciences graduate program covers diverse cosmic disciplines, from stellar astrophysics and galactic studies to cosmological research on the universe's beginnings, solar system dynamics, cosmic radiation, and planetary discoveries beyond our solar system.
This curriculum provides a worldwide perspective on scientific advancements while deepening expertise in current innovations. With intentionally limited enrollment, faculty can provide personalized guidance in a collaborative academic setting. Professors actively contribute to three key research domains: Earth-space interactions, astronomical phenomena, and planetary system studies. Their involvement with the CanariCam Science Team grants students privileged access to observations using the massive 10.4-meter GTC, the world's largest optical-infrared telescope.
The program combines close mentorship with exceptional research prospects typically found at larger institutions. Learners can tailor investigations to professional aspirations, exploring specialized subjects including universal structure theories, astrophysical particle acceleration, atmospheric electrical phenomena, gravitational singularities, and alien worlds. Unique research possibilities emerge through cutting-edge campus facilities and proximity to numerous aerospace corporations, making Florida Tech's program truly distinctive.
