FAU's Ph.D. Program in Business with an Accounting specialization equips students for academic careers in teaching and research, as well as for analytical roles in corporate or government settings. The majority of our alumni secure faculty positions at higher education institutions.
This full-time program requires at least four years to finish, involving coursework, independent research, and dissertation completion (refer to program specifics for more information). Generally, students spend two to two-and-a-half years on coursework and related requirements, followed by one to two years dedicated to their dissertation. FAU's accounting curriculum is designed to develop students' research capabilities and teaching effectiveness. Participants complete a minimum of four accounting seminars while choosing a complementary concentration area (such as finance, economics, psychology, etc.).
