Our programs offer the adaptability students require, enabling them to select from conventional or entirely online courses while participating in diverse research opportunities, available both in crucial South Florida locations and globally. The Geosciences Department provides undergraduate degree options culminating in either a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.), specializing in Geography or Geology. Additionally, students can pursue Certificate Programs in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), with minor options in Geography, Geology, or Geographic Information Science. Below are detailed descriptions of degree pathways and prerequisites. A minimum grade of C is mandatory for all department courses counting toward degree requirements. Students must also fulfill the University's foreign language requirement for B.A. and B.S. degrees.
