The Department of Mechanical Engineering provides multiple pathways for earning a Master of Science degree. Candidates can choose between a standard Mechanical Engineering track (with thesis or non-thesis alternatives) or focus on Sustainable Energy studies. The department participates in the Interdisciplinary Materials Science Program, enabling students to obtain a master's in Material Science. Furthermore, exceptional undergraduate students currently enrolled may qualify for the combined BS/MS Pathway, allowing them to start graduate coursework during their junior and senior years.

Qualification Requirements

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or any engineering discipline, applied biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, materials science, mathematics, applied mathematics, physics and applied physics.

Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education and have earned a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate work taken while enrolled as an upper-division undergraduate student working towards a bachelor's degree,

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL= 550/paper-based, 80 internet-based) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores (6.5)
