The main goal of the Physics PhD program is to offer exceptional graduate students a challenging academic setting for conducting research while cultivating the analytical, experimental, and leadership abilities needed for careers in mathematics, science, and technology. Fifteen dedicated faculty members, focused on research excellence, make up the Department. Their experimental investigations span:
Detecting axions and astrophysical particles
Laser ablation processes
Matter-laser interactions
Growth and characteristics of nanomaterials
Plasma physics and theoretical studies
Scattering of atoms and molecules
Electronic and structural aspects of carbon-based
nanomaterials
Optimization techniques and numerical algorithms
Quantum theory applied to manifolds
