Our Science Education program equips future teachers with the skills to instruct science for grades 6-12. Students can choose from three specialized paths: 1) Physics Education, 2) Chemistry Education, or 3) Biology Education. This discipline focuses on employing observation, experimentation, and analysis to explore and explain the workings of the natural and physical world.
Beyond their selected specialization (biology, chemistry, or physics), Science Education majors will gain expertise in these key areas:
Psychological principles covering behavior, learning processes, motivation, personality development, and evaluation methods, The evolution of the U.S. education system across all levels, Diversity training for educators to work effectively in culturally diverse settings, Educational theories, Communication skills, and additional relevant topics.
