Mechanical engineering stands as one of the most expansive, versatile, and varied engineering fields. The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.) program equips graduates to enter the mechanical engineering profession or pursue advanced studies. Alumni typically pursue careers as mechanical engineers, often specializing in machine design, manufacturing, power systems, electromechanical systems, or automotive engineering. The B.S.M.E. curriculum offers a well-rounded education by blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on applications. It emphasizes four core mechanical engineering domains: mechanical design, electromechanical systems and controls, modern manufacturing techniques, and thermal sciences. Students develop skills to evaluate, create, construct, test, operate, and service mechanical parts, equipment, systems, processes, and infrastructure, while also learning cost estimation and project management.
