The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physics provides an accelerated five-year dual-degree program, enabling eligible students to earn both a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science with a cosmetic science specialization. The department features an ACS-accredited B.S. in Chemistry program alongside an M.S. in Chemistry. Students can choose from various undergraduate and graduate concentrations, as well as minor programs. Our facilities boast state-of-the-art instrumentation, including 300 MHz NMR spectrometers, liquid chromatography systems, GC-MS equipment, high-resolution FTIR, and Raman spectroscopy tools. The Chemistry B.S. serves as the foundational degree for careers in chemical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as for advanced studies in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical engineering, and related fields. This program particularly benefits students planning to apply to medical, pharmacy, or veterinary schools, with pre-med students typically taking the MCAT during their junior year after completing organic chemistry coursework.
