Emory University School of Nursing's Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) program equips nurses for specialized advanced practice roles in treating critically ill newborns across diverse clinical environments, particularly neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Program graduates emerge as highly trained advanced practice providers capable of conducting thorough evaluations, diagnostic procedures, and managing symptoms and illnesses in newborns and children up to two years old. The curriculum emphasizes wellness promotion, illness prevention, ongoing health management, family guidance, patient education, and addressing both sudden and persistent medical conditions across multiple healthcare facilities. The online delivery model allows practicing nurses to pursue their NNP certification at Emory University without leaving their current jobs or relocating to Atlanta.
