The Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program equips nurses for advanced clinical practice with a curriculum centered on providing comprehensive care to patients and their families from adolescence through adulthood. The program prioritizes chronic disease prevention and management in adults, incorporating pharmacological interventions, behavioral strategies, and relationship-building approaches. Its core objective is to develop highly skilled clinicians who demonstrate exceptional critical thinking abilities and strong communication skills. The curriculum and practical training highlight the physiological, psychological, and societal effects of illness on both patients and their families. Upon completion, graduates qualify to take either the ANCC's Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner certification exam or the AANP's Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner examination.
