The Cancer Biology Graduate Program is a multidisciplinary initiative under the Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences (GDBBS) at Emory University's Laney Graduate School. This program culminates in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. Upon graduation, students will possess the skills to develop and execute hypothesis-based research utilizing cutting-edge methodologies. They'll gain the ability to analyze scientific literature critically and effectively communicate their findings through both written and oral presentations. The curriculum employs various strategies across multiple model systems to investigate cellular transformation into cancer, molecular mechanisms behind metastatic progression, and how these insights can inform therapeutic interventions for cancer treatment.
A strong undergraduate background in the physical, biological, or behavioral sciences.
A cumulative average of B+ or better in major science courses.
High motivation for a career in biological or biomedical research.
GRE scores are not required by any of the Programs in the Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences.
International applicants whose native language is not English must also complete the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
For the Fall 2020 admissions cycle, the application deadline is December 1, 2019.
