The Information Systems & Operations Management (ISOM) discipline focuses on structured and unstructured problem-solving methodologies that are essential for contemporary businesses and represent consulting industry standards. The ISOM program equips students for diverse careers, particularly consulting roles that frequently address system and process challenges. Graduates have secured positions at leading firms like Bain, McKinsey, PwC, and Hitachi.
To understand system and process dynamics, the ISOM program provides analytical courses that train students in handling extensive datasets, applying statistical and computational techniques for forecasting, risk evaluation, and identifying strengths/weaknesses. It also covers developing decision-support applications to automate and implement intelligent solutions. Beyond analytical training, the curriculum includes management courses that teach operational best practices, such as incorporating IT and operational considerations into strategic planning and addressing psychological factors in individuals and teams that may impact strategic initiatives.
