This educational program offers instruction and practical training to administer short-term behavioral health solutions for mild to moderate mental health concerns. A central component is the mandatory BHSS internship, where participants will gain hands-on experience implementing brief behavioral techniques with clients. Program completers may qualify for roles providing behavioral health support under the guidance of licensed professionals authorized to diagnose mental health disorders in Washington, including clinical mental health counselors (CMHC), psychologists, or psychiatrists. BHSS opportunities are typically available in medical facilities and mental health clinics. Prospective students must complete an admission interview to enroll in the certificate program, confirming their understanding of both academic expectations and career considerations.
