The Master of Arts in Teaching with a Secondary English focus is a 41-credit program designed to provide initial teaching certification for grades 6-12 English. This program caters to individuals holding a bachelor's degree in English or a related field who aim to obtain Michigan state teaching credentials. Educators certified with an English (BA) endorsement are qualified to instruct various science subjects in middle and high school settings. Throughout this program, students can access academic guidance, scholarship opportunities, and engage in activities through both the Physics & Astronomy Department (within the College of Arts and Sciences, which oversees this program) and the Teacher Education Department (in the College of Education, where professional teaching courses are offered).
