The Bachelor of Business Education with a focus on Secondary Education in Business, Management, Marketing, and Technology equips you with expertise in management, accounting, administrative services, marketing, information systems, and computing. This program covers fundamental business concepts including business administration, economics, consumer finance, business law, retail operations, entrepreneurship, software tools, and digital literacy. In Michigan, educators holding the Business, Management, Marketing and Technology (GQ) certification are qualified to teach business subjects for grades 6 through 12. The need for instructors in this field continues to grow. Students can access academic guidance, scholarship opportunities, and extracurricular programs through both the College of Technology, which houses this major, and the Department of Teacher Education within the College of Education, where professional teaching courses are based. Meet the minimum requirement of 2.0 cumulative High School Grade Point Average or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for consideration.
EMU uses a test-optional admissions model for first-year admission.
A student with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.75 or higher will not be required to submit a standardized test score.
A student with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5-2.74 will be considered test-optional. Upon review of application and academic history, standardized test scores may be requested if required.
At student with a cumulative high school of 2.49 and below will be required to submit a test score.
