Supply Chain Management (SCM) encompasses coordinating all processes from product design and manufacturing to the procurement of materials, workforce, and other assets, along with marketing, logistics, and building customer relationships. SCM experts enhance business value by efficiently managing these operations. They possess strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, logical thinking, and quantitative problem-solving capabilities, while collaborating with various teams both internally and externally. All businesses, regardless of scale or industry, maintain supply chains as they engage in buying and supplying products and services. Michigan hosts North America's most active international border crossing, with Canada, Mexico, and China as its primary trade partners. SCM professionals can find opportunities in Southeast Michigan or worldwide based on their career placement. The demand for SCM graduates remains high, with over 1,000 supply chain positions typically available weekly in the Detroit/Southeast Michigan region alone.
