The Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics program, delivered by the College of Business (COB), is designed to equip students with professional expertise in both economics and business, preparing them for administrative or research roles in corporate or public sectors. This program stands out in three key ways: It enables students to major in economics while completing the core business courses mandatory for all COB students, hence the BBA in Economics designation. Combining business and economics studies creates a mutually reinforcing academic experience—enhancing learning outcomes beyond what either discipline offers independently, giving graduates a competitive edge in the employment landscape. For those considering advanced education, the program offers pathways to pursue an MBA, M.A., or Ph.D. in fields like economics, finance, or management. Students can participate in the Economics Club, a peer-led group that facilitates extracurricular learning opportunities. High-achieving students may join the Fed Challenge team, competing against other universities in simulated Federal Open Market Committee sessions. Additionally, qualified students can gain membership in Omicron Delta Epsilon, the prestigious national economics honor society.
