The Bachelor of Arts in Spanish is designed for students who want to enrich their lives with the in-depth knowledge of Hispanic culture, literature, and language. It is meant to encourage the dissemination of knowledge of the Hispanic-speaking world both on and off-campus, and to encourage reciprocal communication between peoples the world over. With a BA in Spanish, you will find opportunities in areas such as international careers, health and social services, translation and interpretation agencies, the fields of international communication and information services, science, the arts, education, foreign service, government, business particularly the automotive industry in Michigan banking, and tourism. A major in Spanish will allow you to continue in many graduate programs.

Meet the minimum requirement of 2.0 cumulative High School Grade Point Average or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for consideration.
EMU uses a test-optional admissions model for first-year admission.
A student with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.75 or higher will not be required to submit a standardized test score.
A student with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5-2.74 will be considered test-optional. Upon review of application and academic history, standardized test scores may be requested if required.
At student with a cumulative high school of 2.49 and below will be required to submit a test score.
