The Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching is a 15-credit curriculum that equips participants with specialized teaching methods and course development skills for academic settings. This program primarily aims to enhance the expertise of current university educators and prepare aspiring instructors for roles in higher education.
In addition to the admissions criteria set by the Graduate School, the following will be required for consideration for acceptance into this certificate program:
1. Demonstrate an interest in higher education teaching;
2. Have at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the most current awarded degree;
3. Possess a graduate degree or concurrent enrollment in a graduate degree with completion of at least one semester of study.
Application materials to be submitted to the Graduate School include:
1. An application;
2. A one-page letter (essay) stating interest in the Higher Education Teaching graduate certificate program;
3. Transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended;
4. A vita or resume;
5. Contact information for two references
