ETSU provides a combined degree program in pharmacy studies that allows students to begin the Doctor of Pharmacy program without a prior Bachelor's degree while simultaneously earning a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Studies. The initial year of pharmacy school coursework counts toward both the undergraduate and professional degrees, forming the core of the undergraduate major. Applicants must first gain admission to the Gatton College of Pharmacy before applying for this dual program. Qualified students should reach out to the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at Gatton College. The Pharmacy Studies curriculum emphasizes fundamental pharmaceutical sciences, equipping graduates for further education toward pharmacy licensure or careers in pharmaceutical research, administration, sales, biotechnology, drug production, regulatory compliance, and similar areas. The program covers essential subjects including mathematics, biological sciences, chemistry, physics, statistics, pharmaceutics, pharmacology, toxicology, drug formulation, production techniques, quality control, and pharmaceutical regulations.
