The Department of Biomedical Health Sciences aims to deliver an exceptional educational program that builds a solid foundation in core scientific principles, enhances students' ability to communicate effectively, nurtures a passion for lifelong learning, supports robust research initiatives, and cultivates collaborative relationships within the academic environment and broader community.
Situated in Lamb Hall, the Department of Biomedical Health Sciences is an interdisciplinary unit providing diverse courses focused on human biology and wellness, including Anatomy and Physiology as well as Microbiological Sciences. Students can pursue Bachelor of Science degrees in either Microbiology or Health Sciences. The department also features a unique 3+1 Health Sciences pathway that allows students to earn their B.S. in Health Sciences during their first year of Pharmacy doctoral studies. Furthermore, minors are available in both Microbiology and Health Sciences. Through a partnership with the Department of Biological Sciences, the department provides a Master of Science program in Biological Sciences with specializations in Microbiology and Biomedical Sciences.
