The Department of Sport, Exercise, Recreation, and Kinesiology provides two bachelor's degree options: a B.S. in Kinesiology with specializations in Exercise Science and K-12 Teacher Education, along with a B.S. in Sport and Recreation Management featuring concentrations in Sport Management and Park and Recreation Management. The K-12 Teaching track qualifies graduates for Tennessee's physical education teaching certification, enabling them to instruct from Kindergarten through 12th grade. This curriculum delivers comprehensive instruction in teaching methods for all grade levels, aligning with the Clemmer College's vision of shaping 21st-century educational leaders. Future educators gain leadership preparation for classroom, school, and community settings while acquiring expertise in subject matter and teaching strategies, with particular focus on technological integration, cultural diversity, and inclusive education. Physical Education professionals cultivate critical thinking and problem-solving abilities as they evolve into compassionate, lifelong learners.
