The Department of Health Sciences is dedicated to delivering an excellent educational experience that builds a strong foundation in basic sciences, enhances students' communication abilities, cultivates a passion for lifelong learning, supports a robust schedule of scholarly pursuits, and nurtures collaborative relationships within the academic community and the wider public. Situated in Lamb Hall, this multidisciplinary department provides a range of courses focused on sciences related to the human body and health, such as Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiological Sciences. Students can pursue a B.S. in Microbiology or a B.S. in Health Sciences, as well as a Health Sciences 3+1 option for the Pharmacy doctorate program, allowing them to earn their B.S. while in the first year of the doctoral program. The department also offers minors in Microbiology and Health Sciences and collaborates with the Department of Biological Sciences on a joint graduate program, awarding an M.S. in Biological Sciences with specializations in Microbiology and Biomedical Sciences.
