The Bachelor of Fine Arts is the premier undergraduate degree for visual arts professionals. This program enables students to focus on a specific artistic discipline or experiment across various studio fields to build professional readiness. Before reaching 45 art credits and after completing 21 studio art credits, students must satisfactorily pass ARTA 2916 - BFA Portfolio Review. Successful completion of this review is mandatory for admission into the culminating BFA course, ARTA 4916 - Graphic Design Portfolio and Exhibit, and for earning the Graphic Design BFA degree. Candidates get just two attempts to pass the BFA Portfolio Review. Graphic Design BFA students should note that their final advanced studio courses must prioritize creating exhibition-worthy Art and Design pieces. The Art and Design Department will showcase select works from these courses in a mandatory senior exhibition or presentation, demonstrating student achievement.
