Duquesne University's Occupational Therapy program equips students to become highly skilled and empathetic practitioners, enhancing lives through purposeful therapeutic approaches. Occupational therapists learn to tackle physical, cognitive, emotional, sensory, and other performance-related challenges. Their interventions focus on skill development, illness prevention, and fostering overall health and wellness. They also provide rehabilitation when impairments, disabilities, or health conditions hinder a person's ability to engage in daily activities. Serving individuals of all ages and abilities across diverse settings, occupational therapists deliver care through individual sessions, group therapy, or large-scale community programs. Our educational approach prioritizes hands-on, transformative learning. Through community-based experiences and extensive clinical fieldwork, students quickly apply classroom knowledge to real-world practice. The program prepares graduates with both broad foundational skills and specialized expertise, empowering them to excel in clinical and leadership roles.
