Our program focuses on developing musical skills across PreK-12 public and private schools, in both classroom and rehearsal environments, preparing you to teach throughout the U.S. Alongside your coursework, you'll uphold exceptional standards in musicianship, teaching methods, and professional conduct while collaborating with a broad network of mentor teachers in public school music programs (including band, choir, orchestra, and general music) for hands-on field experiences starting in your first semester. As you refine your teaching techniques, you'll continue performing in diverse ensembles and receive instruction from our GRAMMY-winning Music Performance faculty. Music Education majors can pursue a dual degree option to also earn a Music Performance degree.
