Duquesne's Speech-Language Pathology program offers students a comprehensive academic foundation paired with extensive clinical training at an accelerated rate. Participants in this five-year curriculum smoothly transition from the pre-professional phase directly into the graduate-level professional program. Note: The Department currently doesn't admit graduate students who already hold bachelor's degrees. This pioneering five-year accelerated track ensures students earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees upon successful completion (assuming all academic requirements are met). The program combines classroom learning with hands-on clinical work and research opportunities, featuring cutting-edge technology and facilities that simulate actual speech, language, and hearing disorder evaluations and treatments. Students benefit from an extensive network of diverse externships with experienced clinical educators in authentic settings. Our faculty members are deeply invested in both teaching and research, delivering top-tier academic and clinical instruction. Beyond academics, students enjoy a vibrant campus life with athletic programs, cultural activities, professional networking, community service initiatives, study abroad opportunities, and various social events.
