The COAMFTE-accredited master's program in Marriage and Family Therapy equips future therapists with essential skills for professional practice. Our curriculum prepares learners to navigate varied healthcare settings while tackling pressing public health challenges affecting individuals, relationships, and family systems. With specialized emphasis on trauma-affected families and addiction-related issues, we educate students to serve distinct groups such as couples, LGBTQ+ individuals, suicidal adolescents, and families struggling with substance abuse. The program incorporates traditional, contemporary, and research-supported therapeutic methods, with faculty specialists certified in multiple approaches like Attachment-Focused Family Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Treatment, Sexual Counseling, and the Therapist's Personal Model.
This 90-credit master's program fulfills Pennsylvania's licensure prerequisites for MFT professionals. Alumni become eligible for Pre-Clinical status with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Our graduates develop competencies for clinical roles across diverse settings, securing positions in mental health facilities, rehabilitation centers, educational institutions, medical centers, legal offices, faith-based organizations, and independent practices.
This intensive two-year graduate program satisfies Pennsylvania's educational standards for MFT licensure and maintains accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).
