The Human Development and Counseling (HDC) program provides an on-campus, full-time undergraduate experience with a fresh educational perspective. Students engage in hands-on, interactive coursework led by qualified, licensed professionals with real-world expertise.
In their first two years, learners build core competencies through studies in humanities, social sciences, writing, biological sciences, mathematics, and research methodologies. The curriculum also mandates six specialized courses covering human growth, behavioral healthcare fundamentals, professional ethics, and behavioral health career paths. Upperclassmen then customize their education by choosing from diverse electives aligned with their professional aspirations.
The program emphasizes practical application through community learning initiatives and Drexel University's advanced Center for Inter-professional Clinical Simulation and Practice. A strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice principles permeates the comprehensive academic framework.
