The STEM-focused combined major in economics and public health is a joint initiative between the School of Economics and the Dornsife School of Public Health. This program equips students with valuable insights into health and wellness by examining conventional elements like healthcare access and environmental factors, alongside wider societal issues including human rights and social equity.
This interdisciplinary program combines economics, physical sciences, and all four public health disciplines: epidemiology, community health and prevention, environmental and occupational health, and health management and policy. Students also benefit from a year of unrestricted electives, allowing them to explore additional academic interests.
Those completing this dual major will possess exceptional qualifications for careers in health services, environmental science, insurance providers, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies. The program also provides strong preparation for advanced studies in public health, health sciences, public administration, economics, or related social science fields.
