The STEM-accredited BS in Economics and Data Science is a collaborative program between LeBow College of Business and the College of Computing and Informatics. Economics core courses provide students with understanding of market dynamics, incentive systems, and causal relationships. Simultaneously, data science classes prepare students to handle the growing volume of information that plays a vital role in economics, business, and daily decision-making. This dual focus gives economics and data science majors a distinctive advantage in applying data to interpret contemporary society. The curriculum also offers ample elective options for students to investigate additional subjects of interest.
Those earning a BS in Economics and Data Science will qualify for roles including data specialist, analytics engineer, market researcher, AI development engineer, economic analyst, and information systems expert. Furthermore, they'll be well-equipped for advanced studies in economics, business administration, data analytics, or similar disciplines.
