The Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy teaches philosophical methods through active engagement with real-world issues, spanning personal matters to global and cosmic concerns. This degree equips students with skills for any profession that prizes careful analysis, reasoned argumentation, and articulate expression about substantive matters, while being especially beneficial for legal careers, graduate philosophy programs, or related disciplines such as media criticism, public administration, or science and technology studies.
Philosophy majors at Drexel explore both historical and contemporary topics across core areas of philosophical investigation. These encompass moral philosophy, metaphysics (the study of existence), epistemology (the theory of knowledge), aesthetics (the philosophy of art), political and social philosophy, philosophy of science, and logical reasoning. Elective offerings address diverse applied fields like technology, healthcare, legal systems, religious studies, scientific inquiry, and environmental ethics. Advanced seminars emphasize discussion, intensive reading, and writing, typically capped at 10-12 participants. By the end of their second year, students may opt to specialize in one of three tracks:

Qualification Requirements
Official transcripts must be sent directly from your high school to Drexel They cannot accept self-submitted transcripts. You are required to submit transcripts from each high school attended. Transcripts must include all coursework from grades nine 9 ten 10 and eleven 11 Twelfth 12th grade coursework in progress should also be included.

A transcript is official only when it is sent directly from an institution to the Office of Admissions or when it is officially signed stamped in color and sealed. Use your legal name on all documents should match the name listed on your passport. All students who attended any portion of secondary school outside of the US are required to submit an official academic record with notarized English translation from every secondary or postsecondary school attended Transcripts must reflect 9th 10th and 11th grade coursework and grades earned as well as any 12th grade coursework in progress.
Two letters of recommendation are required.
